What If I Think I Need Medication Management?
Does The Conversation Location offer medication management?
Yes. The Conversation Location offers medication management services for clients who may benefit from psychiatric evaluation and medication as part of their overall treatment plan. Our providers work collaboratively with therapists and clients to ensure a comprehensive, individualized approach to care.
How do I know if I might benefit from medication management?
You may want to consider medication management if:
-
You continue to struggle with symptoms despite participating in therapy.
-
Your anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, or other mental health symptoms are interfering with your daily life, relationships, work, or school.
-
You are interested in exploring whether medication could complement your therapy.
-
You have taken psychiatric medication in the past and would like to restart or review your current treatment.
An evaluation with one of our providers can help determine whether medication may be appropriate for your specific needs.
Do I have to be in therapy to receive medication management?
While medication can be beneficial on its own, research shows that combining medication with therapy often leads to the best long-term outcomes. If you are not currently in therapy, we can discuss treatment options and, if appropriate, connect you with one of our licensed therapists.
Can I receive both therapy and medication management through The Conversation Location?
Absolutely. Many of our clients benefit from receiving both services under one roof. Our collaborative approach helps ensure that your treatment plan is coordinated and tailored to your goals.
Will I automatically be prescribed medication?
No. Medication is not the right solution for everyone. During your evaluation, the provider will discuss your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals before making recommendations. In some cases, therapy, lifestyle changes, or other interventions may be recommended instead of or in addition to medication.
Can I continue seeing my current therapist if I use your medication management services?
Yes. If you already have an established therapist outside of our practice, we are happy to coordinate care—with your written permission—to provide the best possible support.
What conditions can medication management help address?
Medication management may be appropriate for a variety of conditions, including:
-
Anxiety disorders
-
Depression
-
ADHD
-
Bipolar disorder
-
PTSD
-
Panic disorder
-
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
-
Mood disorders
-
Certain sleep-related concerns
-
Other psychiatric conditions, as clinically indicated

A team member (usually our office administrator) will contact you. They will help match you with the right counselor based on your needs, goals, availability, and insurance/billing requirements. Feel free to ask any questions!
Your insurance and billing requirements may sometimes determine which counselor is available. Our office manager can review your insurance and assist you in finding the best option.
Once you’ve chosen a counselor, we’ll send you a client portal link with documents to sign before your first session. Don’t worry, it should only take 5-10 minutes!
During your first appointment, your counselor will likely ask about your reasons for seeking counseling, your goals, and some background information.
You and your counselor will then work together to set up a schedule. Weekly sessions are typical, but the frequency will be something you decide together!
Do you have a fax number for referring doctors?
Yes. Doctor referrals may be faxed to 833-845-1846.
